Site Agent – Waterford (Wastewater Project)

Location: Tramore, Co. Waterford (near Racecourse), further projects in the Waterford Area thereafter
Sector: Heavy Civils / Utilities
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary & Benefits: €65,000 – €70,000, vehicle, fuel card, pension, and more.

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Agent to oversee a large infrastructure upgrade in Tramore, Co. Waterford.
This project involves significant water and wastewater network works supporting both existing and new residential developments in the town.

The successful candidate will manage on-site teams, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. This is an ideal role for a proactive professional seeking long-term career development within a growing civil engineering company.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards
• Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of all site works
• Supervise subcontractors to achieve programme and quality targets
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and utility providers
• Ensure Traffic Management and HSQE plans are fully implemented
• Maintain detailed and accurate site documentation and records
• Report project progress and issues to senior management
• Support continuous improvement in safety and delivery performance

Requirements

• Degree or trade background in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Proven experience as a Site Agent or Site Manager within water, wastewater, or utility projects
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving ability
• Full Irish driver’s licence required
• Experience in heavy civils, infrastructure, or public works highly advantageous
• Irish/UK experience highly advantageous
