Site Engineer – Commercial Project
Location: Curragh, Co. Kildare
Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: €55-65k 

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer to join a strong main contractor on a commercial build project in the Curragh, Co. Kildare. The project will run for approximately 16 months and includes foundations, pads, services, and formwork.

A Site Manager will also be running the site, with this role focused on setting out and ensuring accurate delivery of works. This opportunity offers excellent long-term potential, with further works expected in the Leinster region thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out setting out for foundations, pads, services, and formwork
  • Ensure information from drawings/specifications is clearly communicated to site teams
  • Monitor site progress, including subcontractor works, and report to Site Manager
  • Work with setting out equipment including GPS and robotic instruments
  • Maintain daily site records and assist with BCAR documentation
  • Conduct quality checks and materials testing in line with specifications
  • Engage with Irish Water representatives and procedures when required
  • Promote safe working practices and report non-compliance
  • Contribute to project efficiency through accuracy and self-management
  • Foster strong professional relationships with colleagues and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Site Engineer, ideally with a main contractor
  • Strong setting out experience (Total Stations & GPS highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of utilities connections, concrete, and rebar structures
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant construction software
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Irish/UK experience highly advantageous
