Site Supervisor – Road Surfacing
Location: Co. Kildare - Projects Across Midlands & Leinster
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: €55,000 - €65,000

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Supervisor to manage road surfacing operations across a portfolio of projects.

This role will suit an Engineer or Technician with experience in road surfacing, civil engineering, or construction management. The successful candidate will lead daily site operations, coordinate crews, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery in line with project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily road surfacing operations to programme and safety standards
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and plant resources to meet deadlines
• Carry out site inspections, set out works, and maintain accurate records
• Implement and oversee traffic management in compliance with HSA regulations
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and project teams
• Assist Contracts Manager with planning, reporting, and resource allocation
• Promote sustainable methods such as Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) and Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP)

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in road surfacing or civils, ideally in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of surfacing production, laying techniques, and quality standards
• Familiar with Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and safety requirements
• Skilled in setting out, surveying, and interpreting technical drawings
• Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
• Full driver’s licence

Desirable

• Experience with RAP and WMA technologies
• Knowledge of local authority contracts and public works frameworks
