Position: Health and Safety Officer
Location: County Kilkenny 

Optimize Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client, a progressive organisation delivering a variety of large-scale projects nationwide. With continued growth across multiple sectors, they are now seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to strengthen their team. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and supporting project delivery to the highest standards.

Key Requirements:

• A third-level qualification in Health & Safety (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a construction, utilities, or similar site-based setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel as needed

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers and the H&S Manager with compliance across all relevant regulations and company policies
• Conduct inspections and audits on-site to ensure safe working practices are upheld
• Prepare documentation including safety reports, risk assessments, and method statements
• Support accident/incident investigations and follow up with corrective measures
• Actively encourage and promote a culture of safety across teams and stakeholders
• Participate in project meetings and briefings, contributing to the achievement of safety objectives
• Monitor and track safety data, feeding into continuous improvement initiatives
