Electrical Technician
Location: Athy, Co. Kildare
Salary: €54-59k DOE + additional benefits
Permanent Full Time
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm with 3.30pm finish on Friday.

As part of the Operations & Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for plant and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in line with GMP, HACCP, and safety standards. This role is hands-on, supporting production, minimising downtime, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and improve reliability.

• Perform electro-mechanical repairs on PLC-controlled, pneumatic, hydraulic, and high-speed production equipment.

• Execute electrical wiring and installation of refrigeration, lighting, and plant systems.

• Ensure CMMS records, work orders, and spare parts usage are accurate and up to date.

• Support production teams, providing technical advice and cross-skilling training.

• Drive continuous improvement projects and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.

• Ensure full safety compliance (LOTO, confined space entry, contractor management, etc.).

• Uphold GMP, hygiene, and quality standards, participating in audits and investigations where required.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing/production environment.

• Qualified Electrician (QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, industrial communications (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).

• Experience with SCADA systems and ATEX zoned equipment.

• Skilled in mechanical and electrical maintenance of process plant.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS/ERP systems.

• Flexible, proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills.
