Maintenance Fitter
Location: Ballinrobe Co. Mayo
Salary: €18-€24/hour DOE
Full time Permanent.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
About the Role:
Optimize Recruitment is currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter for our client, a leading manufacturer and recycler of timber packaging and pallets. Headquartered in Co. Laois, with multiple manufacturing sites across Ireland, this organisation supplies premium quality, sustainable and accredited packaging solutions to a diverse customer base across Ireland and the UK.
The successful candidate will be based in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, with occasional travel to other sites as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct maintenance activities in support of day-to-day production alongside production managers and their teams.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in line with business needs, ensuring corrective measures are documented.
Support and contribute to ongoing Preventative Maintenance Programmes.
Collaborate with contractors and electricians to ensure new equipment is maintainable and operable.
Carry out routine calibration, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment onsite.
Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining all maintenance records and routine inspections, ensuring compliance with licenses and accreditations.
Promote and assist in continuous improvement programmes, maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.
Provide support in emergency situations outside regular working hours when required.
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Qualification in mechanical automation and maintenance fitting and/or in metal fabrication desirable.
Experience in electrical fault finding desirable.
Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication and fitting techniques.
Excellent problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Flexible approach to work with a commitment to completing tasks.
Robotic programming experience advantageous.
Proven track record of high performance and achieving results.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
