Site Manager/General Foreperson – Pharmaceutical Projects
Project Location: Clonmel, Tipperary
All projects generally based across South Tipp, Waterford, Kilkenny & Carlow)
Salary: €68,000 – €77,000+ & package (DOE)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a General Foreperson to join a well-established main contractor. The company delivers high-spec pharmaceutical, food production, and industrial projects across the Southeast, with long-term frameworks in place with leading global clients.

Projects range from internal fit-outs and complex extensions, to heavy civils and power infrastructure. With a strong pipeline secured for the next several years, this role offers an excellent long-term career path within a progressive and well-structured contractor.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery
• Manage subcontractors and site teams, maintaining strong leadership presence
• Enforce health & safety standards through ongoing monitoring and inspections
• Oversee quality control, ensuring works meet client and project specifications
• Plan labour, plant, and material resources to maximise productivity
• Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, and design teams on progress
• Resolve site challenges quickly with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Maintain accurate site reports, records, and progress updates
• Support a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the site

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in a Foreperson, Site Supervisor, or Site Manager role with a main contractor in the Irish Construction Industry (also open to Senior Engineers etc.)
• Strong track record on pharmaceutical or complex industrial projects highly desirable
• Solid background in civil engineering and building works
• Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or from a trade background
• Proven leadership with ability to motivate site teams effectively
• In-depth understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and standards
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
