Site Engineer – Groundworks & Utilities
Location: Celbridge (Data Centre & Commercial Projects)
Sector: Civils Infrastructure – Groundworks & Utilities
Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: €38,000 – €55,000 (DOE)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer to join a respected civils contractor. The successful candidate will be based on a newly commenced project in Celbridge, delivering utilities and groundworks for a major data centre and commercial development.

With a strong pipeline of projects across Kildare and surrounding areas, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys setting out and site-based responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site setting out using Total Stations & GPS equipment
• Manage daily site engineering duties to ensure technical accuracy
• Monitor works against drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Support project management team with technical input and progress reporting
• Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements across site operations
• Liaise with subcontractors, utility providers, and design teams
• Maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information
• Assist in resolving technical or construction challenges quickly

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline
• 1+ years’ experience in groundworks/utilities on civils projects (ideally in Ireland/UK)
• Proficient with Setting Out using Total Stations & GPS equipment
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of Irish health & safety standards and site procedures
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Full Irish driving licence required
