About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their established consultancy team based just outside Cork City. This is a permanent role offering excellent career development opportunities within a structured consultancy environment. The successful candidate will work across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, pharmaceutical, and civil engineering projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity to progress professionally, with clear pathways towards chartership and senior-level roles. Initial project sector open, and depending on previous experience.

Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and Bills of Quantities
- Analyse tender returns and provide detailed recommendations
- Administer contracts and oversee financial management of projects
- Prepare valuations, variations, and financial progress reports
- Conduct site inspections and liaise with project stakeholders
- Record, track, and report project KPIs and cost data
- Manage document control and ensure contract compliance
- Support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
- Engage with clients and subcontractors, maintaining strong working relationships
- Operate within the consultancy’s quality, environmental, and health & safety frameworks
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, working towards chartership (MSCSI/MRICS)
- Min 2+ years’ experience in an Irish PQS / consultancy setting (open to strong contracting experience)
- Proven ability to manage valuations, variations, final accounts, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of specifications, drawings, and Bills of Quantities
- Skilled in extracting quantities and preparing accurate subcontractor enquiries
- IT proficient with Microsoft Office; knowledge of CostX or similar is an advantage
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
