Optimize Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client, a leading international food production and processing company supplying high-quality products to retail and foodservice markets across multiple counties. With a reputation for excellence, innovation, and a commitment to the highest industry standards, our client operates in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where safety, quality, and operational efficiency are paramount.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Stay informed of new health & safety legislation and maintain a working knowledge of developments within the industry.
• Lead the development of a proactive health & safety culture and continuous improvement projects across the site.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively, documenting and reporting findings to management.
• Carry out and update risk assessments, implement preventative measures, and monitor compliance.
• Develop safe systems of work and maintain risk trackers as required.
• Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and huddles alongside Line Managers and Supervisors.
• Investigate, record, and follow up on incidents, accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
• Maintain the site’s Emergency Plan & Procedures, ensuring key responders are trained and prepared.
• Oversee and monitor all third-party activities to ensure safe working practices.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• At least 2 years’ relevant experience, ideally within the food production industry.
• A third-level qualification in a related field.
• Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues and senior management.
• Drive, confidence, and resilience to see projects through to completion.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and innovative thinking.
• High levels of organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
• Commitment to keeping up to date with health & safety legislation and industry developments.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity.
• Outstanding communication skills and a professional manner.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
