Junior Quantity Surveyor (Residential/Housing & Apartments)
Location: Waterford / South-East
Salary: €40k–€55k

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support a long-established Waterford developer with a diverse portfolio — from large housing schemes and commercial builds to student accommodation projects.

Salary & Benefits

• €45k–€60k (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of cost plans, budgets, and financial reports
• Support procurement and tendering for subcontractors and suppliers
• Prepare valuations, progress claims, and variation assessments
• Maintain detailed cost records and assist with financial tracking
• Work closely with senior QS staff to ensure commercial compliance
• Assist with final account preparation and project close-out

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field (or trade background with relevant experience)
• 1–3 years’ QS experience on housing, commercial, or student accommodation projects
• Understanding of contract forms and cost management principles
• Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills
• Full Irish driver’s licence and ability to travel to local sites
• Irish/UK market experience highly advantageous
