Project QS – High-Rise Steel Frame / RC Concrete
Location: Waterford City 
Salary: €55k–€80k
Sector: Student Accommodation 
Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, seeks a seasoned Project Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable, long-established developer based in the South-East. With nearly four decades of building excellence, this company boasts award-winning residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and student accommodation projects across the region.

You will play a pivotal role in steering the commercial delivery of a landmark high-rise steel frame or RC concrete project, gaining exposure to complex engineering, stringent specifications, and large-scale delivery. The role will be based in the heart of Waterford City - with a very strong pipeline of local projects there after. 

Salary & Benefits

  • €55k–€80k (DOE) (Higher for Senior)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of high-rise construction projects
  • Prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors and suppliers for steel frame and RC works
  • Assess variations, progress claims, and prepare final accounts
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements in line with company procedures
  • Monitor project costs, identify risks, and implement cost controls
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams
  • Provide accurate cost reporting to senior management

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field (or trade background with relevant experience)
  • c.5+ years’ experience on steel frame or RC concrete projects
  • Strong cost management and contract administration skills
  • Excellent negotiation, reporting, and commercial acumen
  • Full Irish driver’s licence and flexibility to travel as required
  • Irish/UK market experience highly advantageous
