Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor - NTA/Road Projects 
Location: Dublin City & County 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: c.€95,000 (Possibly Higher)
Package: Vehicle, Fuel Card, Pension, Laptop & Phone

About the Role:
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a long-established civil engineering contractor delivering National Transport Authority (NTA) Road Corridor Projects and other large-scale public works across Dublin.

The NTA Road Corridor Programme involves the upgrade and development of essential bus, cycle, and pedestrian routes, as part of Ireland’s broader active travel and sustainable transport strategy. The contractor is engaged in long-term frameworks with multiple local authorities, delivering complex, high-profile projects across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a civils-focused Senior QS to take a lead role on impactful public infrastructure schemes within a progressive and supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple NTA-funded infrastructure projects
  • Prepare CVRs, cash flow reports, and accurate cost forecasting
  • Manage procurement, tendering, and subcontractor payments
  • Maintain and negotiate client and stakeholder communications
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, cost control, and reporting procedures
  • Collaborate closely with project teams and local authorities
  • Monitor variations, change orders, and claims management
  • Attend progress meetings and provide commercial input
  • Support junior QS staff and contribute to team development
  • Uphold strong documentation and audit standards

Requirements:

  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a civil engineering or public works QS role
  • Strong working knowledge of public works contracts (PWC) or NEC contracts
  • Proficient in cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with civils projects involving road upgrades or utilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full Irish driver’s licence required
  • Irish or UK market experience is highly advantageous
