Architectural Technician – 5+ Years’ Experience
Location: Portlaoise, Co. Laois (Hybrid/Office-Based)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary circa: €45k-55k negotiable DOE
Projects workload includes; Healthcare, Commercial, Schools and Residential.

Our client is a well-established architectural practice based in the Midlands with over four decades of experience delivering high-quality projects across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and civic sectors. Known for their collaborative ethos and practical approach to design, the practice offers a balanced mix of creative opportunity and technical rigour across a wide project portfolio.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an architectural practice in Ireland or the UK

• Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction processes

• Proficiency in Revit (essential); AutoCAD and SketchUp experience beneficial

• Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills

• Experience working on healthcare, public sector, or residential projects is a plus

• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills

• Qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field

• Familiarity with BCAR documentation and site administration advantageous
  
  

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical drawings and construction packages using Revit and AutoCAD

  • Assist with planning applications, tender documentation, and on-site coordination

  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors across all project stages

  • Ensure compliance with current Irish Building Regulations, TGD, and BC(A)R procedures

  • Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and support delivery of projects to a high standard

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of BIM workflows and office standards.
