Electrical Site Manager – Substations (PIW Role – Training Provided)
Location: Munster Region
Salary: Circa €70,000

A rapidly growing infrastructure and utilities contractor is currently seeking a Site Manager with substation experience to join their team, delivering a variety of multi-disciplinary and ESBN framework projects. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in the management and delivery of complex works across multiple sites.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be part of a highly experienced project delivery team, managing large-scale substation and ESB Framework projects. The role includes responsibility for assigning work on ESBN systems and ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as PIW (Person in Charge of Work) – training provided if not already certified

• Prepare and issue work packs; oversee pre-mobilisation activities

• Plan works including sequencing, outage coordination, and scheduling

• Liaise with site supervisors to ensure efficient and accurate tele messing

• Enforce SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) compliance

• Maintain accurate site records and documentation

• Manage fault-related or additional works arising during the project

• Oversee quality and environmental management on site

• Supervise multiple crews across electrical and civil disciplines

• Ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery

• Monitor resource allocation (labour, materials, equipment)

• Maintain all site safety files and documentation

• Record all variations (CVI’s) during works

• Conduct regular quality and Health & Safety audits

Candidate Profile:

• Fully qualified electrician

• Supervisory experience in live substations (33kV or higher) is essential

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong organisational ability

• Fluent English (spoken and written) – certification may be required (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
