Electrical Project Manager (MV/HV Substations)
Location:
Leinster/Midlands Region
Salary: €80k + vehicle and additional benefits  

Our client, a leading contractor in the power and utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their team within the Power Division. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple electrical infrastructure projects, with a focus on medium and high voltage (MV/HV) systems, including substations and MV underground works (38kV–400kV), on behalf of ESBN.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary electrical projects, within the MV/HV sector.

  • A qualification in Electrical Engineering or Project Management is advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with medium and high voltage systems, including hands-on substation experience.

  • Strong technical knowledge of MV/HV systems, particularly 33kV and above.

  • Commercially astute with a solid understanding of project costing and financial control.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership, motivation, and the ability to inspire team performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage multiple electrical infrastructure projects concurrently, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.

    • Lead and supervise project teams while ensuring compliance with contractual and safety requirements.

    • Monitor and control project costs, supporting regular financial reporting and cost forecasting.

    • Evaluate and review subcontractor costs and claims.

    • Prepare and deliver progress reports on a daily and weekly basis.

    • Attend and chair internal and client-facing meetings.

    • Identify and mitigate risks or issues proactively.

    • Plan and schedule resources, labour, and materials effectively.

    • Work closely with the SHEQ Manager to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

    • Support business development through tendering activities and client networking.

    • Uphold exceptional standards of customer care and service delivery.
