Trainee Accountant (Practice)

We’re currently working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Tipperary that is seeking to hire a Trainee Accountant to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career finance professional who is eager to build a career in accountancy within a supportive practice environment.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across accounting, bookkeeping, and taxation, while also benefiting from structured training and full study support toward a professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA).

Working alongside a qualified accountant, you will be exposed to a diverse client portfolio and gain valuable insight into the operations of a busy accountancy practice.

Duties will include:
• Assisting with bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with deadlines
• Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial statements
• Liaising with clients to ensure accurate and timely information
• Assisting with ad hoc reporting and analysis

Ideal Candidate:
• Desirably a third-level degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Keen to pursue a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, etc.)
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is an advantage, but not essential
• Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
