Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering
Location: Tallaght (Office-Based, with Site Travel as Required)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Package: Vehicle, Fuel Card, Laptop, Phone, Pension Support
Salary: €95,000 or higher (depending on experience)
Sector: Civils – Road Corridor & Utilities

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established civil engineering main contractor based in Tallaght. This senior position offers a key leadership role, overseeing the full lifecycle of multiple infrastructure and utility projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will manage both office and site operations, ensuring efficient project delivery, maintaining high standards, and fostering strong working relationships with stakeholders including local authorities and clients.

This is a hands-on role for a driven professional capable of overseeing tendering, procurement, resourcing, and contractual performance across a busy portfolio. Sector is based on the Road Corridor, working closely with public authorities and councils. The incumbent will be working with several small to mid-sized contractor across Dublin.

Responsibilities
• Oversee multiple contracts and civil projects across the region
• Manage teams across office and site environments, including subcontractors
• Lead client meetings, authority engagement, and internal coordination
• Oversee tendering, including document preparation and submissions
• Support procurement strategy across concurrent projects
• Maintain consistent programme delivery and high-quality standards
• Monitor project risk, resourcing, and compliance across contracts
• Liaise closely with internal teams to ensure project alignment
• Track financial performance and assist with cost control measures

Requirements
• 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering or infrastructure contract management (experience in Ireland/UK advantageous).
• Strong experience leading projects and managing subcontractor crews
• Solid understanding of procurement, frameworks, and tender documentation
• Third-level qualification in construction, engineering, or related field
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proven leadership in managing cross-functional delivery teams
• Highly organised, with strong time and resource management skills
