Environmental Consultant
Location: Dublin

Optimize are product to partner with our client, a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy in Ireland seeking a skilled and motivated Environmental Consultant to join their team as a Construction Environmental Compliance Manager on major construction projects across the Dublin region.

The company operates both domestically and internationally, supporting a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct regular on-site inspections, audits, and environmental walkovers.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions to site staff.
  • Monitor compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, planning conditions, and permit requirements.
  • Investigate, document, and close out environmental incidents.
  • Review and assess environmental documentation such as Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and other contractor submissions.
  • Oversee and audit waste management practices on site.
  • Provide ongoing development and refinement of environmental management systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure best practice implementation and continual improvement of environmental standards on site.
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams, contributing to long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (BSc or BA Hons) in Environmental Science or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an environmental role; prior experience with environmental compliance on construction sites is advantageous.
  • A focused environmental background (candidates with EHS-only qualifications will not be considered).
  • Practical experience with auditing and site inspections.
  • Solid knowledge of Irish environmental legislation, compliance obligations, and permitting processes.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a busy site environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
