Senior Duty Manager – 4-Star Hotel (Kilkenny)

Summary:

A 4-star hotel in Kilkenny is seeking an experienced Senior Duty Manager to oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage department, with a strong emphasis on conference and banqueting services. This role is central to delivering excellent guest experiences while maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations across all Food & Beverage outlets, with a focus on conference and banqueting.

• Support the Operations Manager with projects and specific tasks.

• Lead by example to maintain the highest standards of guest service.

• Enforce food & beverage cash handling procedures.

• Assist with HR functions related to the F&B team.

• Provide input during menu reviews to ensure competitiveness in the market.

• Monitor and replenish stock of non-consumables.

• Ensure staff compliance with fire, emergency, and health & safety procedures.

• Maintain and monitor staff timekeeping systems.

• Investigate monthly beverage variances alongside the Operations Manager.

• Oversee and manage the Duty Manager function and checklist.

• Maintain and update the Duty Manager section of the shared drive (H-drive).

• Attend training sessions and adapt to a flexible work schedule as needed.

• Perform any additional tasks as directed by management.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality setting.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.

• High standards of personal presentation and punctuality.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

• Team-oriented with a commitment to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
