Financial Controller – (Co Carlow)
Our client, a well-established and growing healthcare services provider with multiple locations is seeking a capable and experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who brings strong practical finance skills.
This is a key role in a dynamic and patient-focused organisation where accuracy, commercial awareness, and strong financial discipline are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, including oversight of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Monitor and manage cash flow across multiple locations, ensuring strong liquidity and operational efficiency
- Oversee credit control processes, ensuring timely collections and reducing debtor days
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and standard operating procedures
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Support the budgeting and financial planning process across the business
- Liaise with external accountants and advisors for annual accounts, tax, and audit matters
- Support operational and leadership teams with financial analysis, insights, and reporting
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting tools
- Lead, mentor, and support members of the finance/admin team
Requirements:
- Min 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Strong practical experience in financial management, ideally within a multi-site service.
- Proven track record managing credit control, cash flow, and transactional finance
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Skilled in accounting systems Sage, Xero and MS Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and growing business environment
