Artic / Hookloader Driver – Environmental Transport

Location: Nationwide (Based in Tipperary)
Sector: Waste Transport & Industrial Services
Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Minimum 45 hours per week
Pay Rate: €17.85/hour (increasing to €18.85 after 6 months)
Weekend Work: Paid at time and three-quarters (1¾)

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Artic or Hookloader Driver for national waste collection and transport operations. This role involves the collection and delivery of materials such as tankered liquids, skips, or bulk waste from industrial sites to licenced disposal facilities. You will be part of a professional logistics team, operating to the highest environmental and safety standards.

This is a full-time permanent role with overtime options and clear progression routes.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate artic or hookloader vehicles nationwide
• Collect waste material from industrial client sites
• Transport loads to licenced waste and treatment facilities
• Complete logbooks and compliance documentation
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and safety
• Work in line with environmental transport regulations
• Coordinate with dispatch and site teams to ensure timely collections

Requirements

• Valid CE Licence (for artic) or C Licence (for hookloader)
• Full CPC and digital tachograph card
• ADR certification preferred for certain load types
• Experience with hookloaders, tankers, or skip transport desirable
• Comfortable working nationwide and on industrial sites
• Good understanding of transport and environmental safety compliance
• Manual handling and Safe Pass preferred
