Location: Clontarf, Dublin

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Section Foreman / Section Forewoman for a major educational development in North Dublin. This project involves the phased delivery of a new 1,000-pupil school, including full structural and envelope packages, external works, and internal fit-out. Approximately two years remain on the programme.

The successful candidate will join a well-established site team and take responsibility for supervising key packages of work—initially focused on groundworks, structure, or envelope depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor on a landmark development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations within a specific project section
  • Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour on assigned works
  • Ensure works are delivered to programme and quality targets
  • Monitor compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Maintain site records, including permits, checklists, and diaries
  • Liaise with engineers, project managers, and design team as required
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to site management
  • Attend site coordination meetings and contribute to planning sessions

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar supervisory role with a main contractor
  • Previous experience across groundworks, structures, or envelope packages
  • Trade background or construction-related qualification strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and enforce site safety
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Familiar with Irish building regulations and site safety standards
  • Irish/UK experience is highly advantageous
