Senior Site Engineer – Groundworks & Utilities

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working in partnership with a respected civils contractor, are seeking a Senior Site Engineer to oversee groundworks and utilities projects kicking off in Leixlip and Blanchardstown. This role offers a long-term opportunity with a growing company delivering essential infrastructure projects across Kildare and Dublin.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities on site, including setting out and quality assurance.
• Supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Manage technical documentation, including method statements and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, and utility providers.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
• Identify and resolve site-based challenges promptly.
• Liaise with stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ site experience in civils groundworks/utilities (Ireland/UK preferred).
• Proficient with Total Stations & GPS for setting out and surveying.
• Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to site management.
• Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Full Irish Driving Licence essential.
• Irish/UK civils experience highly advantageous.
