Location: Co. Donegal
Salary: €45,000 – €62,000 (DOE)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer for a significant building project in Co. Donegal. This role will involve supporting the delivery of a new education facility, with responsibilities focused on setting out, site coordination, and quality assurance.

The successful candidate will work closely with site teams and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency are maintained across the project. Responsibilities

• Perform precise setting out for site works and monitor progress
• Coordinate daily operations with foremen, operatives, and subcontractors
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
• Oversee quality checks for concrete placement and rebar installations
• Support site traffic management and logistics planning
• Maintain detailed site records and daily diaries
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments
• Attend site meetings and liaise with the wider project team
• Maintain setting out instruments and oversee testing equipment

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Proven setting out experience on building or civils projects
• Previous experience with a main contractor or subcontractor
• Familiarity with site traffic management in active environments
• Solid understanding of HSEQ regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and related software
• Experience with Total Stations & GPS equipment highly desirable
• Irish or UK market experience is highly advantageous
