Site Agent – Civils Road Project
Location: Co. Donegal
Salary: €65,000 – €80,000+ (DOE)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee a key civils road project in Co. Donegal. This role involves managing the delivery of road and infrastructure works, supervising site teams, and ensuring technical compliance with project specifications.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming works, this is an excellent long-term opportunity to join a busy civils contractor with projects continuing in the region after this phase concludes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site activities ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and coordinate daily operations
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation
• Supervise earthworks, pavements, and road finishing works
• Monitor quality control and implement corrective actions as required
• Review design documentation and propose practical solutions where needed
• Manage project variations, pricing, and procurement activities
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and statutory bodies as required
• Provide technical leadership and support to site staff
• Attend project meetings and report on progress and technical issues

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in road, pavement, or infrastructure projects
• Proven experience managing earthworks and road construction activities
• Strong understanding of specifications and contract documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
• Full, clean driver’s licence required
• Irish or UK market experience is highly advantageous
