Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)
On-site in Portlaoise
Full-time, Permanent. Mon-Fri 39 hrs/week
Salary: €42k– €50k DOE
Work Authorisation: Must have legal right to work in Ireland

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing organisation within the waste management sector. This full-time, permanent role is based on-site at their state-of-the-art production facility in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Requirements:

• Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 2–3 years' post-graduate experience, including strong SolidWorks proficiency.

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Sage or similar data management tools.

• Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of CAD BOM (Bill of Materials) generation.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide regular progress updates to the Engineering Manager and deliver assigned projects within agreed timeframes.

• Support the design requirements for both existing products and new product development, in compliance with current legislation.

• Conduct product analysis under various working conditions to ensure quality and performance standards are met; troubleshoot and resolve any design or process-related issues.

• Create and maintain technical drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring issues are identified and resolved before production.

• Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on reducing non-value-added activities.

• Assist in the development and refinement of SOPs and SWPs, contributing to the organisation’s ISO accreditation efforts.
