Civil Engineer – Water Infrastructure Project – Meath
Location: County Meath
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Salary: €53,000 – €70,000 or higher, along with Vehicle, Fuel Card, Phone, Laptop

About the Role:
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join a major water infrastructure project in County Meath.

The project involves the construction of essential water supply infrastructure, including works related to reservoirs, control buildings, and associated pipelines and services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a key development, delivering vital upgrades to the regional water network while growing your career within a collaborative and professional site team.

Salary & Benefits:

Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret site drawings, specifications, and construction plans
  • Carry out accurate setting-out using GPS and Total Stations
  • Coordinate daily site operations with supervisors and subcontractors
  • Manage site resources including materials, plant, and labour
  • Monitor works for quality and ensure compliance with standards
  • Enforce Health, Safety, and Traffic Management requirements
  • Attend and contribute to regular site meetings and reporting
  • Maintain detailed site records and support project documentation

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar civil engineering role (ideally within Ireland/UK)
  • Strong experience with GPS and Total Station setting-out is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, and general IT tools
  • Previous exposure to water or utility infrastructure projects beneficial
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and the public
  • Health and Safety awareness with a proactive attitude
