Site Engineer – Residential & Commercial Projects
Location: Waterford City
Salary: €50,000 - €70,000 (d.o.e.) + Vehicle & Fuel Card & Bonus
Hours: Full-time

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a dynamic and progressive house-building company based in the Southeast. This organisation has successfully delivered a wide range of projects including large housing estates, apartment complexes, student accommodation, hotels, offices, and retail developments – with established retail tenants across multiple locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to work on high-quality residential and commercial developments in the Waterford region.

Responsibilities:

• Manage technical elements of site activities, including planning and coordination
• Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout project phases
• Conduct setting out using Total Stations and GPS equipment
• Ensure all works are delivered to quality, time, and budget standards
• Maintain high standards of site safety and environmental compliance
• Monitor, document, and report on site progress
• Maintain accurate site records and resolve technical queries
• Assist with design interpretation and ensure specification compliance

Requirements:

• 4+ years' experience as a Site Engineer
• Third-level degree in engineering, construction, or related field
• Strong experience on residential construction projects
• Former Tier 1 contractor experience highly advantageous
• Strong technical understanding of construction drawings and details
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and site engineering tools
