About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced ecologist to support a variety of environmental and ecological projects.
The position involves a combination of field surveys and office-based work, analyzing data, preparing technical reports, and providing specialist advice to clients across various sectors.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about conservation and environmental management, who enjoys working on diverse projects in a dynamic consultancy setting. Some travel within Ireland, including occasional overnight stays and work outside normal hours for field surveys, will be required.

Our client is a respected environmental consultancy that provides innovative solutions for sustainable development. They work on a wide range of infrastructure and environmental projects, offering expertise in planning, environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, and ongoing monitoring

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct habitat assessments and species surveys, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Analyze field data and use GIS tools for mapping and spatial analysis.
• Prepare ecological assessments and reports, including Appropriate Assessments (AA), Natura Impact Statements (NIS), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) chapters.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors, attending meetings and providing expert guidance.
• Mentor junior ecologists and assist in their professional development.
• Contribute to managing large-scale environmental projects and oversee smaller projects independently.
• Support business development efforts by drafting proposals and assisting with client engagement.

What You’ll Need
• 3+ years of postgraduate experience.
• 3rd level qualification in earth science, environmental science, ecology, zoology, or a related field.
• Experience in technical report writing (AA, EcIA, and EIAR chapters).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• MSc in a relevant field and / or Membership in CIEEM is advantageous.
• Experience in an environmental consultancy firm.
• Full clean driver’s license.
