Senior Engineer – Educational Project
Location: Carlow (On-site)
Salary: €60,000 - €80,000

About the Role:
Optimize Recruitment, working with our partner, a major Irish construction firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for a prestigious new building project. This project is part of a government-led programme aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure.With a four-year project timeline, this is a fantastic long-term opportunity with strong career progression potential.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting work to the highest Health and Safety standards, ensuring safe practices at all times.
• Implementing quality control procedures and ensuring all works adhere to project-specific standards.
• Managing setting-out information, ensuring it is accessible and communicated effectively on-site.
• Developing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and Design Teams.
• Reviewing detailed designs and liaising with designers to ensure construction readiness.
• Coordinating the development of design from subcontractor technical information and workshop drawings.
• Overseeing subcontractors and general workforce management on site.
• Planning work activities efficiently to meet project programme targets.
• Controlling material orders and maintaining accurate site records.
• Maximising project profitability through effective self-management and contractual awareness.

Requirements:

• A third-level degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Site Engineer.
• Proven experience with main contractors, subcontractors, or surveying firms preferred.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and related software.
• Proactive and driven, with solid construction knowledge and excellent communication skills.
