Project Planner – Major Water Infrastructure Project – Consultancy
Location: Cork, Galway, or Dublin (Office) - Project Based in Tipperary 
Salary: €65,000 - €75,000
Package: Fuel Allowance/Mileage, Healthcare, Dental Care, Pension
Annual Leave: High Amount of Annual Leave
Flexibility: Hybrid Options & Ability to Work Overseas for 4-Weeks per Year

Overview:
Optimize Recruitment is seeking a skilled Project Planner for a major water infrastructure project in Co. Tipperary. This two-year project involves a 15km water mains and commissioning initiative, providing a new water source for the town, along with pumping stations, residential and commercial infrastructure upgrades, and collaboration with Irish Water.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, managing progress updates, and producing detailed reports for stakeholders. This role offers a strong salary package, hybrid working options, and flexibility to work overseas for up to four weeks per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, focusing on critical paths, WBS, milestones, and resources.
  • Lead interactive planning workshops to establish robust and realistic scheduling frameworks.
  • Align schedules with project deliverables, execution plans, and contracting strategies.
  • Monitor progress, update schedules, and ensure reporting accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify deviations between schedules, plans, and forecasts.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, trending charts, and schedule analyses for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define resources, man-hours, and align with cost control measures.
  • Present findings and lead progress updates effectively for stakeholder communication.

Requirements:

  • 4+ Years experience in Project Planning (Construction) - Ideally within the Water infrastructure setting.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning software, ideally Primavera P6. Experience with MS Project 
  • Understanding of project management techniques, including critical path method and earned value analysis.
  • Proven experience in planning, analysis, and reporting within infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead meetings and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience with Irish/UK projects is highly advantageous.
