Quality Control Technician - Co. Kildare
Working in a state-of-the-art facility, this an excellent opportunity to join an industry leader in the food and beverage sector for over half century.
The successful individual will carry out in-house QC testing on incoming raw materials, raw samples and /or finished products.
Working closely with QC Chemists and management, this role will involve internal interaction with production, purchasing and inter-company lab personnel regarding procedures.
The successful individual will have the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 2 years Industry experience is essential
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Critical thinking and negotiation skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities will include:
• Document HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements
• Select and prepare all standards for comparison with samples from production
• Establish and implement QC procedures for the continuous improvement of QC department functions.
• Carry out standard product tests such as Brix, pH, turbidity, etc.
• Evaluate incoming raw material samples for compliance with specifications
• Responsible for collection, review and filing of Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials
• Organise, store, clean up and disposal of QC retained samples
• Clean and calibrate all QC lab instruments on a regular basis
• Maintain adequate stocks of reagents and materials for the Lab
• Select and use of standard samples for QC materials evaluation
• Adhere to all GMPs, GLPs, safety procedures and test methods and specifications
• Prepare samples for outside testing as needed
• Report problem areas within the QC function and recommend solutions
