Graduate Quantity Surveyor – Fit-Out & Main – Laois-Based Contractor

Optimize Recruitment on behalf of our client, a medium-sized contractor based in Laois are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Specialising in fit-out projects, they operate across Laois, Offaly, Carlow, Kildare, and Dublin, with a strong presence in both the pharmaceutical sector and public contracts. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop core Quantity Surveying skills under the guidance of an experienced Senior QS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cost estimation, procurement, and contract administration
• Support the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Conduct site visits with the Senior QS to gain practical experience
• Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to manage costs efficiently
• Help ensure projects are delivered within budget and time constraints
• Maintain accurate records and reports on project progress
• Engage in commercial aspects of pharmaceutical, commercial, residential, and public sector fit-outs

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Placement experience in construction or fit-out projects is sufficient
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost management
• Good communication and organisational abilities
• Willingness to learn and develop under senior mentorship
• Full driving licence advantageous for site visits
