Quantity Surveyor – Developer & Contractor (Office-Based)

Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath (Office-Based)
Salary: €50,000 - €60,000+ (DOE)

Optimize Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established developer and contractor operating across Meath, Westmeath, and Kildare. This is an office-based role in Mullingar, working as part of the commercial team, which oversees multiple large-scale residential and commercial developments, both public and private. With a strong pipeline of projects across the region, this role offers a long-term opportunity within a growing company.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring financial efficiency, cost control, and contract compliance across the company’s portfolio. Mainly based in office, with occasional site visits when required. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing cost control, procurement, and commercial reporting for multiple residential and commercial projects.
• Preparing BOQs, valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
• Overseeing subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
• Conducting financial forecasting and risk assessment.
• Working closely with site teams to ensure cost management aligns with project delivery.
• Supporting the Commercial Manager in budgeting, tendering, and contract negotiations.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in residential and/or commercial construction.
• Experience working in Ireland/UK is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and QS software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
