Quantity Surveyor 

Location: Kilkenny
Salary: €65,000-€80,000+ (DOE)
Package: 25 Days Annual Leave | Open to Hybrid Working | Career Development Opportunities
Sector: High-End Construction – Pharma, Data Centres, and Specialist Projects
Reporting To: Commercial Manager

Optimize Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction company delivering high-end projects across the pharmaceutical and data centre sectors. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for the financial management of specialist projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and profitability. Our client is busy in Ireland, the UK and across Europe, with a strong pipeline of work upcoming. 

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in cost control, procurement, and commercial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing BOQs, valuations, and cost reports for high-spec projects.
  • Overseeing contract administration, ensuring compliance with project agreements.
  • Managing procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier agreements.
  • Conducting cost analysis and financial forecasting, supporting commercial decision-making.
  • Assessing risk and opportunity in project cost structures.
  • Liaising with clients, project teams, and external stakeholders to manage financial performance.
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager in preparing and negotiating tenders and contracts.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within high-end commercial, pharma, data centre, or specialist construction projects.
  • Previous experience in Ireland/UK is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and QS software.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-specification environment.
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
