Location: Kilkenny
Salary: €50,000 - €60,000 (DOE)

Optimize Recruitment is seeking an Estimator to join a leading construction company delivering high-spec projects across pharmaceutical and data centre sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, fast-track developments, supporting the Estimating Manager in cost planning, tender preparation, and procurement strategy.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and pricing strategies for a range of specialist construction projects, ensuring competitive, accurate, and commercially viable tenders.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for specialist construction projects.
• Analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess scope and cost drivers.
• Collaborating with the Estimating Manager to develop pricing strategies.
• Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive rates.
• Assisting in the preparation of bid submissions, cost reports, and financial forecasts.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in estimating, ideally within high-end commercial, pharma, data centre, or specialist construction projects.
• Strong understanding of cost estimating principles, procurement, and tendering processes.
• Previous experience in Ireland/UK is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and estimating software.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-specification environment.
