Senior Quantity Surveyor – Waterford

Optimize Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading local building contractor and developer in Waterford. This well-established company offers a steady pipeline of diverse and high-profile projects across the commercial and residential sectors.

Currently, there are working on numerous projects, all based in the Waterford City region, between Residential (housing) projects, along with €25+ Million euro mixed-use commercial developments. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring cost efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
• Manage project cashflow, valuations, and certifications.
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contract law.
• Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, overseeing cost control and payments.
• Lead cost negotiations and change order agreements with clients.
• Ensure final accounts are agreed upon efficiently and accurately.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within a main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of managing multiple projects.
• Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 building contractors is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in contract law, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
• Strong IT skills, including relevant Quantity Surveying software.
• Potential for or already holding chartered status is beneficial.

Salary & Package:

• €75,000 - €95,000 or higher (D.O.E.)
• 10% Bonus, Vehicle, Fuel and more.
