Senior Hydrologist

Dublin / Hybrid

We are partnering with a reputable environmental consultancy known for expertise in environmental management, air quality, acoustics, and risk management.

Serving a range of industrial, private, and public sector clients across Ireland and Europe, the firm ensures compliance with stringent environmental standards. Renowned for its work with sectors like pharmaceuticals, data centers, and infrastructure, the company helps clients achieve regulatory compliance and sustainability through a collaborative approach.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, motivated hydrologist who excels in a multidisciplinary, collaborative setting.
They should bring technical expertise, field skills, and strong communication abilities to support diverse projects, working effectively alongside specialists in environmental consultancy, geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, acoustics, and environmental science. Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to client needs are essential for this high-impact team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Composing detailed technical reports.
  • Conducting flood modelling and flood risk assessments.
  • Leading and managing junior team members and sub-consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to meet all project standards and requirements.
  • Supporting project and program management on large, complex assignments, including post-planning approval phases.
  • Developing proposals tailored to client requirements and project goals.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in the environmental industry.
  • Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and synthesising complex data into clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, meet reporting requirements, and comply with internal reporting protocols.
  • Proactive, highly organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong writing and communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, capable of working effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
