Project Manager – Infrastructure/Transport (Major Projects)
Consultancy Based Role 

Location: Cork or Galway (hybrid working available)
Salary: €68,000 to €83,000
Package: Fuel Allowance/Mileage, Healthcare, Dental Care, Pension, 
Annual Leave: 25 days and ability to increase 
Flexibility: Hybrid Options & Ability to work oversea's for 4-Weeks per year. 

Optimize, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Transport Major Projects Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of large-scale road, rail, public transport, and active travel projects across Ireland. This is a senior role for a Chartered Engineer with expertise in managing major infrastructure schemes and guiding teams to achieve excellence in project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects, managing all phases from feasibility to completion.
• Oversee Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO), including representation at Oral Hearings.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and mentoring junior staff.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, building trusted partnerships and ensuring exceptional project outcomes.
• Prepare and manage contracts, budgets, and timelines, ensuring compliance with statutory and client requirements.
• Drive innovation in design and execution, applying best practices and modern technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or a recognised equivalent.
• Extensive experience in planning, design, and delivery of transport projects in Ireland.
• Proven expertise in statutory processes, EIAR, CPO, and construction contract administration.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant design tools, with a deep knowledge of design standards.
• Full Irish/EU driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.
