Principal Environmental Scientist

A full-time position is available for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join their well-established and expanding Environmental team. The role involves working on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects across sectors such as waste management, water and wastewater utilities, manufacturing, and infrastructure development. Candidates should have extensive experience managing large-scale projects within these industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Environmental projects, including fee agreements, invoicing, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Guide and manage junior staff and sub-consultants to meet project deliverables efficiently.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring profitability and providing regular updates to the Project Director and clients.
- Report project progress and outcomes to the General Environmental team’s Project Director.
- Balance client expectations, team capacity, and project deadlines effectively.
- Drive team growth by identifying market opportunities, preparing competitive fee proposals, and ensuring a consistent workflow of projects.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A third-level degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in a similar role or equivalent responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system.
- Proven track record in large-scale EIA projects at planning, construction, and reporting stages.
- Comprehensive understanding of EIA topics such as civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology, hydrogeology, noise, air quality, traffic, and geotechnical considerations, including their interrelationships.
