Leading Irish Consultancy

Optimize Recruitment is seeking an Associate Director – Project Management for a well-established consultancy based in South Dublin. This pivotal role involves leading a team of 6–7 Project Managers and managing a diverse portfolio of large-scale Irish and international projects across sectors including Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, and Public projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Project Managers delivering high-profile national and international projects.
  • Oversee the project management of multiple projects at various stages of completion (design, planning, construction, commissioning, and handover).
  • Chair and minute project team meetings, ensuring clear communication and action plans for all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver Project Management Plans, programmes, and other essential project documentation.
  • Provide key decision-making advice to clients, including programme briefs, cost advice, and initial project planning.
  • Manage the appointment of Contractors and Consultants and ensure all project documentation is properly controlled.
  • Travel to client sites to meet stakeholders and monitor project progress.
  • Compile professional reports to present project updates to clients.
  • Support and manage the development of project managers within the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualification in Construction, Engineering, Building Surveying, or Project Management.
  • 12+ years of experience, ideally in the Irish construction industry with extensive project management experience.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale projects in both public and private sectors.
  • Strong technical appreciation of construction documentation, financials, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project is desirable.
  • Experience with the public procurement process is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.
