Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Midlands

Company Overview:
A leading provider in the precast concrete industry, this company offers bespoke solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects across transportation, water management, and other sectors in Ireland and the UK. Their projects often involve bridge beams, culverts, and other essential concrete elements for public and private works, supported by a dedicated team of engineering professionals from design through to installation.

Role Overview:
An experienced Estimator/Quantity Surveyor is required to manage project estimations for significant precast concrete works. In this role, you'll handle quantity take-offs, create BOQs, and manage cost estimates, working closely with internal teams to support budgetary alignment and accurate tendering.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity assessments from design drawings to ensure precise measurements
  • Develop Bills of Quantities for project costing and tendering purposes
  • Conduct material and labour pricing to provide detailed cost estimations
  • Manage tendering processes, including preparation and communication with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for value engineering within project budgets
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure that estimates meet project requirements and timelines

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in estimation or quantity surveying, ideally within construction or manufacturing
  • Proficiency with estimation software and the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
