Dublin City & County 
Civils & Utilities Contractor 
Office based in Southwest, Dublin

Optimize Recruitment is looking for an experienced Site Agent to oversee and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and safely, adhering to strict timelines and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating crews, managing resources, and ensuring health and safety compliance across the site.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm

Project Types:
Roadworks and Highways, Utilities Infrastructure, Rail Infrastructure, Bridges and Structures, Drainage Systems, Earthworks, Coastal and Marine Works, Flood Defence Systems, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Retaining Walls, and Site Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and develop a two-week look-ahead programme.
  • Communicate the two-week programme to crews on-site and track progress.
  • Order materials, plant, and organise traffic management and additional labour as required.
  • Prepare daily allocation sheets detailing materials, labour, plant, and other project costs.
  • Report any occurrences impacting the programme to the Project Manager.
  • Manage multiple crews (internal and subcontractors) as the primary point of contact.
  • Conduct daily quality and compliance checks, ensuring alignment with project plans.
  • Identify and report design issues, communicating potential solutions and impacts to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure all health and safety forms are completed daily and weekly audits are conducted for HS compliance.
  • Verify that all site workers have the necessary certifications and are inducted before starting work.
  • Prepare and monitor Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and update as needed to improve control measures.
  • Ensure Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) are adhered to, conducting daily checks.
  • Prepare regular progress reports focusing on quality and safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent in civil engineering or construction projects, with utilities and road corridor experience preferred.
  • ROAR certification preferred.
  • Safe Pass certification.
  • Manual Handling certification.
  • LUGS certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Full driving licence.
