Dublin City & County

Office & Site based - Cookstown, Dublin
Hybrid Function 

Optimize Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient delivery within budget and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The successful candidate will coordinate on-site activities and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive project success.

Our client is a prominent civil engineering firm, recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across Ireland. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and precision, they have earned a strong reputation for excellence in sectors including roadworks, utilities, rail, and marine works. Their commitment to quality and safety ensures that every project meets the highest industry standards, from concept to completion.

Working hours: Monday to Friday - 8:00am until 5pm 

Project Types: Roadworks and Highways, Utilities Infrastructure, Rail Infrastructure, Bridges and Structures, Drainage Systems, Earthworks, Coastal and Marine Works, Flood Defence Systems, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Retaining Walls, and Site Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and create a detailed baseline programme using Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the client.
  • Identify and resolve critical path delays, negotiating extensions of time when required.
  • Track project costs to ensure alignment with initial pricing and budget, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Communicate commercial issues to the Contracts Manager and propose solutions.
  • Identify project variations and negotiate additional costs with the client where necessary.
  • Manage all on-site personnel, including the Site Agent, Project Engineer, and Quantity Surveyor.
  • Ensure regular health and safety and quality audits are conducted.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering or construction projects, with experience in utilities and working within the road corridor being preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Background in civil engineering preferred.
