Quality Assurance Officer – Kilkenny City

The successful candidate will have experience within the Food or an industry with knowledge of Food safety systems, 2+ years’ experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a good knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

The successful individual will have the following:

• 3rd Level degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within the Food/Food related Industry.
• Knowledge of quality standards and regulations (e.g. ISO, BRC, HACCP, GMP).
• Good organisational skills and problem-solving skills.
• A motivated team player with excellent communication skills and great attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills with knowledge of SAP an advantage

Working within the Quality teams, responsibilities of the role will include:

• Maintain Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and Standards including ISO 9001, HACCP and all quality and regulatory documentation relevant to the company.
• Review customer specifications, raw material specifications, Safety Data Sheets and packaging specifications as required.
• Assess compliance of systems, facilities, and procedures through internal audits and assessments, assuring compliance to regulatory requirements and company specifications.
• Report non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• implement continuous improvement across all sections.
• Conduct daily checks across the site to verify compliance.
• Co-ordinate the calibration of all testing and measurement devices.
