QS / Estimator (Electrical)(HV)
Location: Johnstown, Kildare
Working Type: Hybrid (after onboarding), with office-based work and occasional site visits.
Sector: Electrical (High Voltage/Medium Voltage - Substations, Solar, and Renewable Energy Projects)
Salary: €55,000 - €60,000+ (Can be higher depending on experience).
Benefits: Death in Service cover, Income Protection, Pension contributions (up to 4%), Annual salary reviews.

Work Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Role Overview:
A leading High Voltage/Medium Voltage engineering company is seeking an Intermediate QS/Estimator to join their growing Tendering and Estimating team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of nationwide projects while developing your career in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage tender bids and support pre-contract activities, ensuring accuracy in cost estimations.
- Review tender documents, amendments, and extract information for subcontractor and material packages.
- Source and appraise quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value and quality.
- Prepare, maintain, and manage pricing documents and tender logs.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication during the tender process.
- Support the preparation of tender documentation, including finalising contracts and project cost plans.
- Conduct project handovers and attend meetings with the delivery team.
- Participate in post-tender negotiations, identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance future opportunities.
- Contribute to project risk identification and supply chain development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5+ years in Estimating/Quantity Surveying, ideally within the electrical or civil engineering sectors. Ideally 2+ Years in the Irish Industry.
- Level 7 Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar/stronger.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
- Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Benefits:
- Salary: €55,000 - €60,000+ (negotiable depending on experience).
- Work Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
