Project Manager - Main Contractor

Our client, a leading construction company with a strong foothold in the Southeast of Ireland, is recognized for delivering exceptional residential projects. With operations extending across Munster and Leinster, they have established a reputation for excellence by fostering strong relationships with clients, design teams, and suppliers.

Optimize Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager with 4 years of experience to oversee a major residential development in Dungarvan, Waterford. This role offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to lead a large-scale project from inception to completion with a reputable main contractor.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A third-level qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4 years of experience as a Project Manager, ideally with a main contractor in the Irish Construction
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations in the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and other relevant project management software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring that all aspects are managed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting.
  • Oversee the work of the site manager, site engineers, and other key personnel, ensuring effective coordination of all site activities.
  • Liaise closely with clients, design teams, and subcontractors, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management, highlighting project progress, financial status, and any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to pursue excellence in all aspects of their work.
