Senior Hydrologist 

Our client is an industry leader in planning, designing and managing major infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients across Ireland.

Due to continued growth our client has an opportunity for a Senior Hydrologist to join their expanding team.

Duties will include

• Undertake strategic flood risk assessments for statutory and non-statutory land-use plans
• Attend public consultation events and performing the lead role for the SFRA team
• Undertake site specific flood risk assessments for public and private developments
• Prepare Section 50 applications
• Undertake hydrological assessments and hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS, Flood Modeller and Infoworks ICM

The successful individual will have the following:

• 5+ years’ relevant experience
• Honours degree in civil/environmental engineering (Master would be advantageous).
• Experience of site-specific flood risk assessment
• Experience of 1D-2D flood modelling (rivers and watercourses)
• Experience of hydrological estimation methodologies
• Experience of strategic flood risk assessment
• Strong project management skills and experience
• Mentor junior members of team
• Excellent organisational skills
• Experience of the design of site specific and regional SuDS would be advantageous. 

The successful individual will join a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team with experience and expertise across a range of technical disciplines, including environmental science, ecology, hydrology, hydrogeology and transportation.
