Quantity Surveyor (Various Levels)

Location: Wexford
Type: Fully In-Office with Site Visits

Optimize is pleased to partner with a highly regarded Construction Contractor known for delivering high-quality, on-time, and in-budget services. Our Tier 2 client focuses significantly on public sector projects and has a reputation for quality and reliability.

The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate the following:

• Degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
• 3+ years of Quantity Surveying experience.
• Ideally, 2+ years’ experience with a Main Contractor.
• Excellent commercial knowledge and understanding.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous involvement with tenders and pricing.
• Ability to negotiate with subcontractors and agree on final accounts.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

• Procurement of Materials and Subcontractors.
• Preparing and analysing project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labor, and time.
• Measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
• Liaising with clients, vendors, and construction managers.
• Monitoring costs from vendors or subcontractors and reviewing variances.
• Managing Monthly/Weekly Cost/Value Reports.
• Negotiating the cost of projects.
